Barry Doan
Chief Risk Officer
Barry Doan's areas of responsibility include Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit and Data Analytics Design as well as the portfolio of Finance and Treasury.
He joined FirstOntario in 1995, then called Avestel Credit Union, as the Accounting Manager and was soon promoted to the lead financial position.
Prior to joining FirstOntario, he held a variety of positions at the assurance practice of Grant Thornton LLP, Chartered Professional Accountants (Doane Raymond).
Barry has his Chartered Director (2018) designation from The Directors College (a collaborative agreement between McMaster University and The Conference Board of Canada) and holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation. He has a Masters of Accounting and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Waterloo.
He sits as a director on the Board of the Central 1 Trust Company and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.
